Volunteers are being sought to help breathe new life into autumn and take part in an Outer Space community woodland improvement day on Wednesday 7 November.
The event takes place between 10am and 3.30pm at the Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) site St Catherine’s, Tickhill Road, Doncaster. It is open to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds and an ideal opportunity to meet new people, do something positive for the local environment and enjoy the inspiring surroundings of the woodlands at St Catherine’s.
Volunteers will learn how to identify the local trees without leaves before having a go at woodland management techniques including tree felling and scrub clearance. The work will help increase woodland wildflower diversity and create new habitats for local wildlife; making the woods a brighter place for everyone. No experience necessary, all tools, training and equipment provided. Reasonable travelling expenses reimbursed and free refreshments will be on offer to all volunteers.
Meet by the Outer Space project information board at the bottom of St Catherine’s Drive. For more information contact John Thompson on 0114 290 1255 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The event is jointly organised by The Conservation Volunteers and Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) through the Outer Space Project.
