We are are delighted to announce that Trafford Youth Trust has awarded us a grant of £40,857 to run our new Active Youth Project. This exciting project will engage young people with a learning disability or additional complex needs in outdoor activities to enhance their health, wellbeing and confidence.
Thanks to funding from Trafford Youth Trust, we will be running free outdoor activity sessions for young people at Sale Water Park throughout 2018. The project will provide the opportunity for young people to get active and socialise, whilst taking part in fun outdoor activities. Activities will be different each week but could include building bird boxes, cutting down trees or planting wildflowers. The project is youth led so activities will be designed with young people on the project.
Ruth Crawford, our Youth Project Officer said ‘We are delighted to have received funding from Trafford Youth Trust to run our Active Youth Project. Outdoor nature based activities are a great way to get young people active, and to improve their wellbeing and confidence.’
Trafford Youth Trust works with a number of other funders, partners and donors to bring funding into Trafford’s youth sector so that more children and young people can receive services that help them to reach their potential. All grants go to VCSE organisations working with children and young people living in the borough of Trafford.
Active Youth activities are open to young people aged 15-25 who live in Trafford and consider themselves to have a learning disability or complex additional needs. Activities will run on Monday mornings, Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday afternoons. To find out more or to book onto an activity please contact Ruth on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07970714240.
