People attending Be a Saint Day in Carrickfergus

On Friday 13th March, Carrickfergus Borough Council collaborated with Business in the Community on "Be a Saint Day". Be a Saint Day is a volunteering day of action, where companies can send staff members out to volunteer on a range of practical challenges which benefit the community.

Alison Diver organised the event in Carrickfergus for volunteers from Belfast Harbour and Henderson Group. The volunteers met up at Eden Allotment Gardens to work on projects around the site and help out at the Women's Aid allotment plot.

The hard working volunteers built raised beds, erected a fence, weeded, mulched and tidied the allotment. We were lucky to get a beautiful sunny day and the volunteers enjoyed getting out of the office and learning some new practical skills.
