Helen with other award winners

At The Conservation Volunteers recent UK Conference in London, Belfast Manager Helen Tomb was presented with a TCV Staff Recognition Award for her outstanding contribution in making TCV a Great Place to Volunteer.

From the earliest days, Helen very enthusiastically embraced the spirit of The Conservation Volunteers' Green Hero Awards and encouraged others to recognise and celebrate the achievements of local volunteers and community groups.

She has a great knack of spotting a winner and capturing the essence of what makes their contribution special, nominating many Northern Ireland Award winners and 4 UK Award winners over the years.  But the support doesn't stop there; she has quietly supported many shy and unassuming award winners to tell their story and helped with practical advice from what to wear to the Palace to coping with flying to London if you've never been on a plane before.

She's a Green Heroes Hero!
