Martin Lawson

We are very sad to share the news that our colleague Martin Lawson passed away recently.

Martin joined TCV in the early 1990s as a Volunteer Officer with the Belfast team. He moved to Fermanagh where he led the Conservation Action Team from Castle Archdale for many years.

Martin had many skills and was an expert in subjects such as hedgelaying and dry stone walling and he enjoyed teaching these skills to others. In more recent years he was increasingly involved in community garden and food growing projects, as well as community development initiatives. Martin was very well known across the Western Area and throughout Northern Ireland by community groups, schools, public bodies and landowners who he developed great working relationships with.

He was a great leader and his passion for his volunteers and improving the environment was remarkable.

Martin was a valued member of the TCV family and he will be sorely missed. We would like to take this opportunity to pass our condolences to his family in Wales.
