TCV's new Natural Heritage Skills Training Project started in January.
Three years of funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) is supporting a programme of training in the skills to understand and manage habitats. This will include the identification of species and habitats, planning improvements to enhance biodiversity and the practical skills to undertake the habitat management work in a sensitive way.
This project is primarily targeting land managers, which is really anybody who is responsible for managing land and could improve its biodiversity through more appropriate management.
There will be a programme of training courses which are open to the public starting around March, but we will also be offering a training service for the employees of organisations involved in land management, such as a council or NGO's.
