The picturesque port of Tarbert in Argyll has in recent years been the location for a fantastic community conservation effort.
The striking ruins of Tarbert Castle have been restored and provide a fine viewpoint over the harbour and Loch Fyne. The restoration works have been spearheaded by the Tarbert Castle Trust whose volunteers cleared vast amounts of vegetation to expose the outlines of the ruined walls. The volunteers have also been involved in various projects to enhance the adjoining greenspace, including a Community Orchard and Sculpture Walk. The Trust is a longstanding member of TCV's Community Network.
