The efforts of local people to care for Aultnaskiach Dell in Inverness, are featured in TCV's Summer Network Bulletin.
The Dell is a 1.9 hectare woodland, close to the town centre, although it's something of a hidden gem with many Invernessians unaware of its existence. The wood is home to a variety of fauna including red squirrels, tawny owls, roe deer and woodpeckers. To conserve these and the woodland's other species, local volunteers have been involved in various activities such as litter picks, cutting back non-native species and planting native trees. The wood is already showing signs of natural renewal and renewed use by local people, including children.
