Our community projects come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, designed to fit around the people and places each is for. They are always unique but do share some common approaches and themes.
Below we’ve listed a few to provide a glimpse into this world. We hope our work will inspire you with a belief that you could do the same thing, because, you can… If you’re interested, please come and talk to us.
Completed Projects
Reflections of Spring
July 2016 – December 2016
We’re planting 7,500 bluebells and 7,500 primroses along the Kennet & Avon Canal, involving 360 people and ten schools. We’re using these special flowers as a way to introduce the concepts of habitat loss, climate change and invasive species to youngsters.
Reviving Hampshire’s Community Ponds
April 2016 – September 2018
Help protect Hampshire’s ponds. Join in with our projects to care for these special places, or become a Pond Champion and help us survey at least 200 of them.
Kent Heritage Trees Project
January 2012 – June 2016
Help us plant over 23,000 trees, become a tree surveyor and survey over 10,000 heritage trees, or join one of our workshops or events for young people.
Hayling Billy Heritage Project
September 2014 – March 2016.
Working as part of a bigger project managed by Eastleigh Borough Council, we worked within a local partnership to deliver a programme of educational visits by local schools and practical conservation sessions with local people.
Friends of Fleming Park
September 2013 – September 2015
A project to develop a new community group to care for Fleming Park in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
