I Dig Trees for Everyone
Be part of something phenomenal.
The Conservation Volunteers' I Dig Trees programme is the largest community tree planting project across the UK, planting millions of trees to date.
Together, we’re taking positive action - planting millions of trees for climate, wildlife and communities!
But this movement has only just begun, and we need YOUR support. By donating to I Dig Trees today, you will make a real lasting impact on the UK’s tree and woodland cover, and it is so easy to do.
You can support I Dig Trees with a monthly, one-off or an annual donation.
£6 per month will support the planting and care of 24 trees over a year.
£15 per month will support the planting and care of 60 trees over a year.
£24 single donation will support the planting and care of 8 trees.
£75 single donation will support the planting and care of 25 trees.
Any donation you make will support the planting of trees by TCV or local community groups.
Each tree pack is sent with planting and aftercare requirements to enable every tree to thrive.
As a leading conservation charity, we ensure that all our trees are native UK species and are selected to support and increase biodiversity.
Your Impact
People across the UK are taking positive action – creating thousands of species rich pocket forests, breathing new life into our towns and cities. Take a look at the map to see where trees have already been planted by our community groups since 2015. You can be a part of this by making a donation today.
You can get involved by supporting I Dig Trees and help tackle climate change with our carbon-busting trees. Plant pocket forests, create havens for our beleaguered wildlife, and green up local environments for generations to enjoy.

Your Tree Planting Questions Answered (FAQs)
I Dig Trees is a community tree planting programme, so all trees need to be planted in community green spaces. If you would like to join together with people from your community and apply for a tree pack, then please visit our community pages to find out more.
Your donation allows us to provide free trees to those communities making a difference in their neighbourhoods. It will pay for the trees, delivery, stakes and guards, and most importantly, provides the support and aftercare guidance that our tree planting volunteers need to ensure success. Grown in the UK, our native tree packs have been carefully picked with our communities and nature in mind. Trees to suit their needs, bringing maximum benefit for cherished green spaces and the wildlife within. Our ultimate goal is to ensure these trees thrive - for climate, wildlife and our communities!
By donating to support I Dig Trees, you’ll be taking positive action on climate change, whilst protecting wildlife and enabling communities across the UK to improve their local green spaces, leaving a lasting green legacy for generations to come. Be proud of your legacy, you can check the interactive map and hopefully visit some I Dig Trees locations in your region!
You’ll receive confirmation at the end of the season! Together, we are making a positive difference
year-on-year and truly achieving something phenomenal – that's real people power. You can see where trees are being planted on the I Dig Trees map.
We really hate to say it, but it's highly unlikely and we want to be upfront about that. Trees are living things, and sadly with all the care in the world, we can’t guarantee that every one of your saplings will make it, nature can be tough! But together, we shall give them the best possible start in life. We provide our tree planters with advice and guidance on quality planting, and the aftercare and maintenance they need to have the very best chance of thriving and surviving!
Good question. We follow our trees from dispatch through to planting, but it shouldn’t end there, and it doesn’t! We check in with our community groups who’ve applied in the past to see how the trees are getting on as part of our annual survey. 85% of respondents report visiting their trees at least once a month to check on their progress. We continue to develop our support guides to reflect the changing climate and challenges for aftercare. Now we have introduced a new audit process to help us better understand the impact these trees are having – the true measure of their legacy. With the help of the wonderful I Dig Trees community we’re introducing a programme of surveys to record the impact of our tree planting on biodiversity and benefits to the local environment.

We recognise some amazing projects happening around the world for climate and wildlife, but here at TCV we are focused on the UK and boosting biodiversity in our own back garden! Our commitment, working with our amazing volunteers and community groups, is to make the UK greener for us all to enjoy, forever.
