Join in, feel good with the UK’s biggest celebration of conservation in the community.
TCV's annual Big Green Weekend showcases the scale and breadth of the activities we deliver week in, week out across the UK. It's your chance to find out more about TCV, and for us to say a huge thanks to all our amazing volunteers across the UK and celebrate our 60th anniversary.
This special 60th-anniversary event celebrates the tremendous work of our volunteers and demonstrates our vital work to protect green spaces - creating healthier, happier communities for everyone.
You could be hunting for bugs with the little ones, weaving willow, conducting wildlife surveys, joining a Green Gym, planting trees, or just relishing time in the outdoors, eating delicious food and having fun!
And when you visit an event, why not take the time to stop and talk to one of our staff or volunteers; to find out a little more about how you could get involved!
We'll be holding events for all ages and abilities across the UK, so there's sure to be something happening near you!
Post a picture to our Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn using "My #BigGreenWeekend" to share your big green adventures - we’ll be tracking posts with this hashtag and sharing your adventures on our networks!
There’ll also be a special prize of a limited edition, Soil Association certified, organic cotton, circular fashion, TCV t-shirt made by TeeMill for the best picture shared (as judged by our expert panel). You’ll also get to choose two photography-based books of your choice from World of Books – preloved books that don't cost the earth!
Green spaces – so essential to any healthy, happy community – are under increasing pressure in these challenging economic times. It's often thanks to the efforts of volunteers across the UK, that they are cared for and improved for the benefit of people and nature. TCV’s Big Green Weekend is a celebration of these valuable green spaces – from local parks and community gardens to waterways, wetlands and woodlands – and the individuals and communities who freely give their time for their protection.
Darren York, TCV Chief Executive
Huge thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for supporting TCV to deliver this event.
We are aiming to create a new generation of conservation heroes and help young people understand the practical role they can play in building a brighter and more environmentally friendly future for all.
TCV brings people together, strengthening communities and improving wellbeing. Our volunteers work to protect and enhance our everyday green spaces for the benefit of wildlife and for us all to enjoy; which really is something to celebrate!
