Multiple TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) projects across the UK are celebrating a major triumph after winning prestigious Green Flag Awards, an international quality mark for parks and green spaces. Their victory is more than just symbolic — it’s a recognition of years of dedication, hands-on work, and community spirit.
Many of our winning sites are on land owned by our partner, The Land Trust, and for the first time we’ve won a record FIVE awards in London!

These winning sites are now officially one of 2,250 green spaces across the UK to meet the rigorous standards set by the Green Flag Award Scheme. For the volunteers who have lovingly maintained and nurtured these sites, it’s a moment of immense pride that should be recognised and celebrated.
Paul Todd MBE, Green Flag Award Scheme Manager, praised the effort behind the success:
“Congratulations to everyone involved in these sites and their maintenance. Quality parks and green spaces like this make our country healthier and more resilient — especially during challenging times like the cost of living crisis. Places like these provide safe, free, and uplifting spaces where families can connect, communities can thrive, and nature is always within reach.”
The Green Flag Award is administered by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government. It sets the gold standard for the management of parks and green spaces across the UK.
