Health Walk Volunteering

Would you like to become a volunteer health walk leader?

All of our health walks are led by trained community volunteers. There is a team for each location and at least two leaders each week. Without these amazing volunteers, the scheme would not exist.

If you love walking and would like to help other people to get more active, perhaps you’d like to join your local the health walk leader team ?

The best thing to do in the first place is to just pop along to your nearest walk, chat with the leaders and walkers and get a feel for the scheme. There’s no need to book, just come and say hello!

There is a little bit of training (a 90 minute theory workshop on Zoom and then a one hour practical session), and no one is expected to lead every week, once or twice a month is perfect. No previous experience is required, a friendly and supportive nature is the most important thing. Get in touch to find out more.

Here’s what some of our volunteers say about why they like being a Health Walk Leader. Click play to watch the little video…
