The Conservation Volunteers Action for Croydon’s Environment team organises regular task days every Wednesday and Thursday in different parks and woodlands in and around Croydon.
Volunteers either meet us at the worksite at around 9.45am or meet the minibus at 9.30am outside the Crown Court on Altyre Road opposite the Croydon Park Hotel. We usually work until around 4pm and the minibus returns passengers to the pickup point at about 4.30pm.
On the day you will need to wear clothes suitable for outdoor work and bring a packed lunch. We will provide gloves, tools, and tea & coffee. Our project leaders will guide you through the work we will be doing each day and provide training on using tools and safe working.
Upcoming activities
To join us you just need to register with us by completing one of our volunteer welfare forms. Please contact us at our e-mail address (see below) and we will send you one of the forms to complete.
Once we confirm you are registered with us you are then free to join us on as many project days as you wish. Some people come out with us on every project day, some one just one day a week, and other people just come out whenever they have a free day.
If you want to see photos from our recent projects, they are available on our Facebook page.

Croydon Ponds Project
TCV’s Croydon Ponds Project ran from January 2018 to March 2020, with generous funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. During the project, TCV worked closely with local people to research the ecology and history of Croydon’s many public ponds.
See the map below showing the ponds included in the project.
For an overview of the project and historical information about our ponds, please see our educational booklet The Croydon Ponds Project 2018-2020
Ecological surveys were undertaken in the summers of 2018 and 2019 and our writeup is available here. The full dataset from the surveys is also available.
Our sincere thanks to all volunteers involved in making the Croydon Ponds Project a success.
