Staff and volunteers ready to swim

CLIP team cool down at Coniston!

May 29, 2012

This Sunday saw some of The Conservation Volunteers in Cumbria finest staff and volunteers take to the water to raise funds for their project.

The CLIP team made up of Phil King, Charlotte Robinson, Carla Searle, Sian Mullen, Fran Richardson and two of their volunteers Jessica and Dan all took part in The Coniston Swim 500m and have so far raised over £200!

The CLIP project places young people aged 16-25 into volunteering opportunities across Cumbria so it was great to see two of these volunteers supporting The Conservation Volunteers themselves!

Dan, one of CLIP's volunteers said, "I joined the swim as I love swimming and it caught my imagination. It was too good to turn down as it offers the chance to do something different whilst raising money for a good cause."

The team really enjoyed it and are already signing up for next year – so watch this space!

You can still show support to the team by donating to them by texting CLIP12 £2 to 70070.
