The Conservation Volunteers in Derby have been working hard to repair footpaths in Chaddesden Wood, a Local Nature Area in Derby that is an excellent green resource both for the local community and wildlife.
The footpaths lead a circular route around the wood and is used extensively by the local community. The 125 meters repaired by TCV’s Biodiversity Action Team in just 2 days has received a great response from locals who use the wood, including local councillor Frank Harwood who said “Can I offer my sincere congratulations to all the people involved in the project, it is impressive and already I have had some feedback from residents who have expressed their comments which are all positive.”
The hardwearing limestone topping that the BAT team have installed will mean the paths will be usable all the year round, preventing the muddy puddles that can make winter walks difficult for anyone.
