Railway Walk Conservation Group in Milton Keynes will be completing their first hedge laying event of the season and are calling for volunteers to get involved. The session takes place on Friday 16th November, from 10.30am to 3pm. No previous experience in hedge laying is necessary as instructions and guidance for this FREE activity will be given by skilled leaders. Tools, gloves and refreshments are also provided.
Special guest Mark Lancaster MP will also join the volunteers in learning all about this ancient management style of our local hedges.
This event is part of the Milton Keynes Railway Walk Experience Project, which has been awarded £65,000 of funding to improve the area. The money was given by WREN, a not for profit business that awards grants to community, environmental and heritage projects across the UK. The funding will go towards improving access to the Milton Keynes Railway Walk and creating a place for local people to escape to and enjoy.
