The Conservation Volunteers in Northern Ireland excited about new look

May 15, 2012

On 2nd May, The Conservation Volunteers Belfast team took part in filming with Volunteer Now to promote the New Volunteering Strategy across Northern Ireland. The team were delighted to be able to use the occasion as a chance to showcase our new look as well as the fantastic work they have achieved through the project.

The Conservation Volunteers team were working on a thriving Community Garden project in Belfast where local volunteers from a range of ages and backgrounds get together to develop the area for community use with food growing, sensory relaxation and environmental education activities.

"I have been volunteering with the Conservation Volunteers on our garden for the past 3 months now, it's been great craic and brilliant to see so many people digging and planting together.  I can't wait to be enjoy the vegetables we have worked so hard to grow"  Volunteer

"I have lived in this area all my life and I'm delighted to see this space being used again to bring people together, especially the young people.  The Conservation Volunteers have brought a new lease of life to this space"  Local resident
