NB: Please be aware that there is currently a security cabin and gate about halfway along Skelton Grange Road. This is in relation to the construction site next door to the Environment Centre.
If you travel by car they will probably note the vehicle registration, ask for the driver’s name and where you are going (tell them TCV). It is simply to keep track of traffic entering and leaving. If you are walking down you can go straight past. Essentially, don’t be worried when you see it, you are going to the right place!
Google Maps will give you good directions to our postcode – LS10 1RS. Other apps may be less reliable!
Walk / Cycle
(approx 50 min walk, 15-20 min cycle – 2.5 miles distance from the Royal Armouries)
Click here for a video of the route by bike.
From Leeds city centre follow the signs to the Royal Armouries. At the Royal Armouries join the canal towpath, part of the Trans Pennine Trail, and head downstream.
Follow the towpath for about 1km and when you reach a modern housing development bear left to cross the river.
Follow the track alongside the river, re-cross the river, and when you reach Thwaite Mills car park double back on yourself to cross the vehicle bridge over the canal.
Take your first left after the bridge to rejoin the canal track.
The towpath will pass a pylon just before a bridge. Come up on to the bridge and cross it.
Turn left after the bridge and the Environment Centre is on your right.
