We have a range of practical opportunities for people to get involved in volunteering at Skelton Grange - including wildlife surveys, training events and practical volunteer days.

Please see below for details and get in touch if you need any more information. We welcome new volunteers at all times, so please come along, but please get in touch to let us know if you're planning to come along to any of the events (there's a short registration form at the bottom of this page).

All events take place at Skelton Grange Environment Centre unless specified otherwise below.

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult for all events.

Regular Monday Volunteering - Green Gym Gardening Group

Join the Green Gym at Skelton Grange Environment Centre - Whether you are a complete beginner, would like to learn new skills or just want to meet people and get some fresh air… try our gardening for health project! Click here for a flyer.

  • Please arrive for an 11am start.
  • Generally sessions run until 2pm unless advertised otherwise.
  • Refreshments provided free.
  • Bus travel reimbursed (please keep your ticket).

Regular Friday Volunteering - The Green Team

Join the Green Team at Skelton Grange Environment Centre - regular opportunities for everyone to come along and help out with some practical tasks on our site. You don't need any experience, just enthusiasm! Please check individual dates and timings below and then please register your interest in these volunteering events using the form at the bottom of this page...

  • Please arrive from 9:30am for cup of tea ready for a 10:00am start.
  • Generally sessions run until 3:30pm unless advertised otherwise.
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring a packed lunch. Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting mucky, and dress for the weather.
