A new Biodiversity Action Team in East Village
Our established Biodiversity Action Teams (BAT) help manage some of London’s most beautiful and vibrant sites for nature conservation. Come and join our newest team in East Village, Stratford. Nestled next to the renowned Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and the site of the former Athlete’s Village, with some incredible wetland and grassland habitats.
Biodiversity Action Teams offer a full day volunteering experience working on some fairly large projects so if you’re looking for a great feeling of achievement, to meet new people and the opportunity to learn some new skills in the process this could be the project for you.
Projects can include tree planting, wildflower meadow management, coppicing, wetland management and habitat creation to improve biodiversity. We work on ensuring greenspaces are accessible, whilst at the same time protecting our flora and fauna.
In East Village, we will also be inviting experts to the site, so that together we can carry out surveying and monitoring of different species. No prior experience is necessary,
All training and instruction is given on the day so no previous experience is required, and we will supply gloves, tools and any other essential equipment required.
Our mid-week project day will run every Wednesday, and we will schedule a weekend session every other month.
We meet onsite, by the tool store at 10am and finish around 3:30pm. For our upcoming sessions, click here.
