Nesta and the Cabinet Office have supported the scaling up of Green Gyms across the country, through the Centre for Social Action Innovation Fund.
This Fund supports the growth of innovations that mobilise people’s energy and talents to help each other, working alongside public services.
TCV Scotland works in partnership with both Scottish Natural Heritage and the Scottish Government.
The vital funding supports a range of activity which contributes to a range of social, economic and environmental outcomes.
Key amongst these are enabling more people to enjoy and learn about the outdoors through volunteering; improving people’s health and well-being; providing new experiences and developing skills; delivering work to care for and improve the nature and landscapes of Scotland; building stronger communities and commitment to improving their local environment.
TCV has been working in partnership with RBS for 10 years, during which time over 16,500 RBS employees have volunteered through the Team Challenge initiative, generating the equivalent of an incredible 115,000 volunteering hours.
Since 2007 the bank’s employees from across the UK have undertaken vital conservation projects. Together they have helped to deliver hundreds of projects which make a difference for thousands of people in local communities every single day of the year.
Working together, TCV provides RBS employees with the opportunity to contribute energy, skills and time to their local community and supports them in becoming a more engaged, healthy and inclusive workforce
TCV was delighted to receive a further £550,000 in December 2019 with a total contribution of £1,475,000 from their Postcode Green Trust. This support will help us to deliver more lasting outcomes for the environment whilst enhancing local people’s health and wellbeing and sharing new skills and knowledge.
TCV is delighted to be selected as Wates Group 2018-20 Charity of the Year. This is our first ever Charity of the Year Partnership with one of the largest construction, development and property services companies in the UK.
Wates will work in partnership with TCV to help raise funds to support our vision of creating healthier and happier communities for everyone. It will also help TCV to extend our reach, helping to transform even more precious green spaces.
”The Conservation Volunteers fits extremely well with our company values and our ethos of sustainability. By partnering with TCV, everyone in Wates will have opportunities to volunteer on projects across the country, transforming green spaces and creating better environments.“ David Allen, Wates Group CEO
