There are lots of different ways to volunteer with TCV Urban Ecology. Most sites run a regular practical volunteer day each week where you can work as part of a team, helping to manage important urban habitats from marsh and meadow to woodlands and ponds. Some sites organise weekend practical workdays too. It’s the perfect way to learn new skills whilst having fun, meeting people and doing something worthwhile at the same time.
All our projects have a community focus, connecting people with places and everyone is welcome to join us. Volunteers can give as much time as they want to and our practical workdays do not need any prior experience, as all training and tools are provided.
If you want a longer-term commitment or can spare more time and want to gain experience, there are other opportunities, such as becoming a TCV Volunteer Officer, a weekend warden, an events helper or joining a Friends group.
Many volunteers use their TCV Urban Ecology experience to enhance their career opportunities within the conservation and environmental sectors. Many others just enjoy the experience of getting outdoors, taking practical action to help improve the environment and staying healthy.
