The Conservation Volunteers are hosting a very special Wild Day Out on Sunday June 16that the Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park. Visitors to this free event will be able to dip into a wide range of wildlife taster sessions from willow weaving and wildlife gardening workshops, to pond dipping and close up minibeast encounters, to wildlife quiz trails and butterfly art. The Ecology Park has lots of different habitats with easy access via wide wooden boardwalks, so is a fantastic and safe place to get close to wildlife. Animals that visitors may encounter include Reed Warblers, newts, dragonflies, butterflies, Canada Geese with their goslings and a whole host of weird and wonderful minibeasts from Water Scorpions to Stag Beetles.
Refreshments and a barbecue will also be available at our pop up Gatehouse Cafe and people can also buy books and gifts to support the work of the park. The event is free and runs from 12 to 4pm.
