The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) has appointed Rachel Slade as our new Director of Operations. This appointment will further strengthen TCV’s UK-wide delivery of volunteering that connects people and green spaces.
Rachel will join us in January 2025 from Think Ahead, a national mental health charity that supports the mental health workforce, where she has been running a fast track programme to train and develop mental health social workers. Before that, she was delivering National Citizen Service on a national scale for eight years.
Rebecca Kennelly, Chief Executive Officer of TCV said, “I am delighted to share this appointment. Rachel has twenty years’ experience in the charity sector working within youth, homelessness and mental health organisations and has significant experience delivering large scale operations in fast growing organisations. She will bring all of these strengths to TCV and I’m very much looking forward to working with her.”
Rachel said, “I am passionate about working together to strengthen communities and promote the benefits of the outdoors on people’s mental health and wellbeing. I am thrilled to be joining TCV at this exciting time in the organisation’s development.”
Rebecca went on to say, “I would like to offer my deepest thanks to our outgoing Operations Director Fiona Richards, for the service and commitment that she has given TCV over the past 5 and a half years. We wish her the very best with her next steps.”
We warmly welcome Rachel to TCV.
