Following the success of an autumnal singing workshop, the team at The Conservation Volunteers are hosting another one of its popular and fun singing workshops, a Summer Singing for Pleasure workshop, at Skelton Grange in Leeds on Saturday 22nd June, and would love you to join them!
This unique event, set in Skelton Grange’s eco-building overlooking a nature reserve, is a chance for those who want to have a go at singing in a supportive, large group environment. The day of harmony and laughter will be led by the fabulous Ali Rigg, who believes that everybody can learn to sing. “Our Singing For Pleasure workshops offer anyone with a larynx and ears the chance to discover and revel in their voice, no matter how limited or extensive their previous experience.” says Ali. “Using songs, rhythms and grooves from around the world we evoke play, laughter and harmony in an encouraging and inspiring environment.”
The last workshop included experienced singers and people who had never sung with others before – and everybody fed back that they had really enjoyed the day:
A great way to spend a Saturday! Such a change from the usual routine. Ali is a fantastic teacher, immediately putting everyone at their ease. We learned new skills, gained confidence, laughed lots and were genuinely moved by the sound we ended up producing! Really fab day, Ali is brilliant – she makes you feel confident & comfortable and she’s quite funny too. Loved the venue and will tell people all about it. The workshop was so enjoyable, I loved it, and can’t wait for the next one!
