Local children have been discovering the wonders of pond-life at TCV's Singleton Environment Centre in Ashford. Members of the Wildlife Club, a fortnightly after-school club for children aged 8-12, have been getting their hands wet exploring the mysterious world of newts, tadpoles and dragonfly nymphs in a pond-dipping event held at the centre.
Mali Kedward, Youth and Education Officer for the Kent Heritage Trees Project, said 'everyone is welcome to come and join in with our fantastic activities. The club is a perfect way for children to really get involved with the wildlife on their doorstep'.
Club members participate in a variety of wildlife-related activities, also including wildlife photography, building bird boxes, spotting animals by torch light, and much more.
