We have created online versions of these fantastically practical guides to creating and managing many aspects of rural and urban green spaces.
They are available for a very modest subscription. Once subscribed, you'll be able to login to access all ten handbooks and take them with you, wherever you go (* internet required for access).

It's been a huge undertaking, with 850 web pages, over 2,000 illustrations, 170 tables and 1,700 links connecting it all together.
For many years, TCV’s Practical Conservation Handbooks have been the definitive ‘how to’ guides to managing the countryside and green spaces. They cover a wide range of subjects, the titles of which are:

There are 10 handbooks in total, each clearly illustrated and laid out in a step-by-step format. Each one includes a comprehensive introduction to the subject as well as chapters on design, management, maintenance, safety, equipment, planning, planting… and so on, depending on the subject at hand. The handbooks were first published in the 1980s and have been updated more recently.
The books are still be available to buy in print form
