The environmental sector often fails to adequately reflect the diversity of the UK’s communities. Traditional environmental volunteering opportunities are often not appropriate or relevant to these audiences, for reasons varying from culture to poverty.
Environments for All tackles this by developing different approaches suited to each community’s local needs. The lessons learnt are shared across the organisation to help all levels of The Conservation Volunteers reflect the UK’s richly diverse society and to establish best practice within the environmental sector as a whole.
In these pages you can see what The Conservation Volunteers in Northern Ireland has been doing to address these issues, how you might be able to get involved and the benefits Environments for All is bringing to communities across Northern Ireland.
