Get Some Credit is a training programme for 16-24 year olds to gain the experience and qualifications they need to compete for work within the environmental, landscaping and forestry industries. Programmes run for a minimum of six months, and we currently have two part-time programmes running across Scotland.
One of our most successful programmes was funded by the Social Enterprise and Third Sector Challenge Fund, and from October 2012 to March 2013 across the Ayrshire, Aberdeenshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, and Stirling areas.
Opportunities for young people included:
- A diversity of training programmes supported through accredited qualifications with a focus on outdoor learning
- Tailored mentoring support for each trainee during the programme and for the first year after completion
- An Employee Recruitment Day where participants met employers and interviewed for existing job opportunities
