TCV's woodland improvement team in Reading

Woodland Improvement Team

Our Woodland Improvement Team aims to enhance woodland sites owned by Reading and Wokingham Councils.

We will do this through tasks such as invasive species removal, tree planting, coppicing etc in the autumn and winter. In the spring and summer, we will conduct ecological surveys of various indicator and protected species groups to monitor biodiversity as well as maintenance of newly planted trees.

Join in with us

The team meets every Tuesday.

You are welcome to come once, monthly, each week or anything in between – no commitments required!

The conservation work, which will start in January 2020, will focus on three key Reading locations managed by Reading Council: Blundell’s Copse in Tilehurst, Bugs Bottom and Clayfield Copse & Blackhouse Woods in Caversham /Emmer Green.

The work will also cover two woodland sites in the Wokingham borough: Highwood and Aldermoors, which are both situated in Woodley.
