Amazing food from our famous homemade cake stall and Dragon Fired pizza oven, which you can wash down and relax with a cup of tea or locally brewed ale from Meanwood's Ridgeside Brewery whilst listening to laughter echoing across the meadows....

Thurs 27th & Fri 28th October 2016: Zombie Apocalypse

Dare you enter the dark woods at Skelton Grange... Strange sightings, missing people and terrifying noises have been reported - what is really going on at Skelton Grange Research Centre?

Come and join us for a deadly serious evening of interactive adventure. Small groups can head into the darkness where they may find disturbing evidence of sinister goings-on. Click here for tickets!

An exciting, if rather scary, evening of interactive adventure for families with older children, groups - or very intrepid individuals.
When purchasing tickets, you can select a timed slot between 6pm and 8:15pm, for you and your small party to set off on a trail of clues and challenges awaiting you. You will be following an outdoor trail in the dark, which we will endeavour to make as safe as possible. However we have been led to understand there are very likely to be zombies in the area - and other potentially alarming experiences. You must take full responsibility for following instructions and need to be very sure that this is something you and the members of your party want to experience! We do not recommend this exploit for young children, those with a nervous disposition or vivid imagination - it is likely to be scary! Children must be accompanied by an adult (who may well find they are very glad of the company).
Tickets include a hot vegetarian or carnivorous sausage sandwich, should you make it back in one piece. Other refreshments will be available for purchase afterwards to calm your nerves.
All the funds raised will support the charitable work of The Conservation Volunteers at Skelton Grange Environment Centre.

Tues 20th - Thurs 22nd Dec 2016: A Winter's Trail

A magical winter trail for younger children and families, wandering through the candle lit woods and gardens at Skelton Grange. Click here for tickets!

Catch glimpses into the secret worlds of the little folk who reside here and find your way to our campfire for a warming drink and gingerbread.
£5 per person including hot drink and snack!
All the funds raised will support the charitable work of The Conservation Volunteers at Skelton Grange Environment Centre.

Trainers at Skelton Grange

All our in-house trainers are all qualified primary school teachers and have enjoyed running successful environmental activities with children from Leeds schools for many, many years! They have experience of working with all ages and abilities, in lots of different settings and have a real passion and enthusiasm for working with children outdoors. In our work we are also lucky enough to meet some very inspirational people, and we have persuaded some of them to run other exciting events at Skelton Grange.

The venue

Skelton Grange Environment Centre is in South Leeds, conveniently located close to the M1 and M621, with ample free car parking available and also served by frequent buses from Leeds city centre and a cycle path. A beautiful, award winning eco-building, with many environmental features including rainwater recycling, solar panels and photo voltaic cells, the centre is located in a 2 hectare wildlife area - all fully accessible to wheelchair users. The building is also available for hire for your own events - click here for more details.

As much as we love dogs here at Skelton Grange, we appreciate that not all participants may be comfortable around them so we operate a no dog policy for our events.
