Safeguarding and Child Protection

The Conservation Volunteers is committed to ensuring that all volunteers, participants and beneficiaries are safe and free from harm and to working actively as part of the multi-agency response to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

TCV has developed safeguarding ‘Children’ and ‘Adults at risk’ Policies that aim to meet these commitments.  These policies are reviewed regularly by the Trustees and can be accessed via the links below.

  • Safeguarding children
  • Safeguarding adults

If as a volunteer, participant or beneficiary of TCV, you have any concerns about your well-being or safety or if you have concerns about the safety of any child or adult at risk attending a TCV project or concerns about the conduct of TCV staff then you should:

  • Talk to any member of TCV staff.
  • Contact any leader within the TCV staff team.
  • Contact TCV by phone or email using the ‘Feedback’ process.
  • If you are a young person talk to your ‘Independent Contact’ within TCV on the phone number provided to you.

Where concerns are raised about the safety or well-being of children or adults at risk TCV will provide support and assistance and when appropriate the concerns will be passed on to external agencies for further consideration and support.
