The Ecology Park will be closing to the public for the Christmas period from Saturday 20th December 2025 to Tuesday 6th January 2026. Staff will be working on site and checking the park over this period. We re-open to the public on Wednesday 7th January 2026 at 10am. The Park will then be open as usual on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to dusk.
Visits are free and there’s no need to book ahead. Note that access to the park is through the Gatehouse – the wooden building situated alongside the Thames Path (between the end of John Harrison Way and Greenwich Yacht Club).
Exciting news! Work will start in January 2026 on the long awaited outer boardwalk and bridge project. Contractors will be connecting the outer boardwalk to the inner boardwalk via a new wooden bridge and removing an area of boardwalk at either end of the outer boardwalk. Volunteer teams will then extend reed and woodland habitats across both ends. This project will restore access to the outer boardwalk area but from within the wardened inner park area, so the outer boardwalk will then be accessible during normal park opening hours. This will provide a safer and more secure space for wildlife and for people and help the Ecology Park cope with the rapidly increasing development across the Peninsula.
