Earlier this month, we shared what TCV staff and volunteers have been doing during this lockdown period to keep their communities connected.
Connecting people and green spaces has always been at the heart of the work we do at TCV, but recently our efforts, along with everyone else’s, have been focused on how to keep communities connected and how we can do our bit to help those who need it most.
This Tuesday is #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity where we can all come together to show our gratitude and appreciation for those who have supported our communities during this challenging time.
Giving Tuesday, usually taking place on the Tuesday after US Thanksgiving, has been running in the UK since 2014 and is a global giving campaign that celebrates charities and promotes the various ways people can give back.
Across the UK, there has been an outpouring of support for charities and the NHS and this is our chance to say thank you as a global community.
In 2019, our 60th anniversary year, TCV worked with 101,000 people to improve and care for 1,500 green spaces in UK communities across 12,500 projects.
During these challenging times, we are working closely with all our partners to understand the implications of the virus and the potentially damaging impact that this will have on our projects as we are face with very unpredictable as well uncertain circumstances.
We have been overwhelmed by the support for donors who continue to give generously during this outbreak, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone.
TCV will be sharing our messages of thanks to our volunteers who have repurposed their volunteering efforts to support their communities, to our supporters who have been ever-present during this challenging time and to all the essential workers across the UK.
#GivingTuesdayNow are also asking everyone to put a heart in their front window, as a sign of gratitude to all the essential workers supporting our communities.
If there is a message of thanks that you want us to share, send it to us with a picture of a heart in your front window and we will share in across TCV social media channels.
For all those who continue to volunteer, who are making sure our green spaces to be enjoyed once again and to all the essential workers who have been on the frontline and supporting us nationwide during this time, a huge thank you from all at TCV.
