Throughout 2020, Scotiabank has donated an incredible £12,033 to The Conservation Volunteers (TCV). This funding will help us continue to connect people and green spaces throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and beyond.
This past year saw many of our fundraising opportunities disappear. With partners like
Scotiabank proud to support the work that we do, the majority of our projects have survived these most challenging times.
The two clubs provide a space for local children to get stuck into activities and crafts inspired by the fascinating ecology, science, and nature on the sites. These projects are important so that children can learn more about their local environment and what is takes to protect and care for it.
Volunteering has looked a little different than what we are used to, however, it is through our relationship with partners like Scotiabank that we have also been able to provide safe and accessible volunteering opportunities across the UK, when local and national restrictions have allowed.
“With more than 100 years in London, we have a tradition of standing alongside our customers, colleagues, and communities. Our entire team across the global Scotiabank network is unwavering in its commitment to be there for every future and help to make a positive difference, especially when communities need it most.”Peter Heidinger, Managing Director and Head of Global Banking and Markets, Europe, Scotiabank.
For many charities around the world, 2020 was a challenging year in the face of COVID-19. With fundraising events cancelled, volunteering suspended, and team members being furloughed, many would not have made it through without the support of funders, partners, and the public.
“Through the generous support of Scotiabank and its employees, we can now continue delivering out incredibly popular Kids @ StaveHill Club, at a time when connecting with the outdoors and nature couldn’t be more important for children.”Douglas Palarm – Head of Corporate Partnerships, The Conservation Volunteers
