Skelton Grange Environment Centre is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year! In those years, The Conservation Volunteers have transformed the 10 acre site into an amazing wildlife haven that has enriched more than 100,000 lives.
We work in partnership with National Grid, who own the land where the centre is located, the community and many other funders have supported the development of the site.
We are an exciting and innovative environmental education centre. We engage people of all ages with the wonder of the natural world and inspire them to make a positive difference to their community and local environment.
We run a wide range of environmental education activities and training courses and also offer a variety of volunteering opportunities.
The centre itself is an eco-friendly building set within the wildlife reserve, which is managed for wildlife and as an outdoor classroom where people can learn, play, explore and discover.
The centre is a partnership between The Conservation Volunteers and National Grid, with support from Leeds City Council.
